# Get internal Medley notes for a participant (MED-877)

`GET /cohorts/{cohortId}/participants/{participantId}/internal-notes`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.production.yourmedley.com`
- URL: `https://api.production.yourmedley.com/cohorts/{cohortId}/participants/{participantId}/internal-notes`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Returns the participant's internal notes as sanitized HTML. Restricted to Medley admins and cohort managers only.

- `cohortId` string, uuid, required
- `participantId` string, uuid, required

## Response `200`

Internal notes retrieved

  - `data` object
    - `internal_notes` string, nullable: Sanitized HTML or null when no notes exist

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Forbidden - requires internal_admin or internal_user role
- `404`: Participant not found
