# Create thread

`POST /v2/api/threads`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.withallo.com`
- URL: `https://api.withallo.com/v2/api/threads`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

Starts a discussion thread on a conversation item with a first comment. Each item can have only one thread.

## Request body

- object
  - `entity_type` 'CALL' | 'TEXT_MESSAGE' | 'CONVERSATION_NOTE', required: Type of the conversation item to attach the thread to.
  - `entity_id` string, required: ID of the conversation item (`cll-*`, `msg-*`, or `not-*`).
  - `content` string, required: First comment text (max 4000 characters). Mention teammates inline with `@[Name](usr-...)`.

    - `entity_type` 'CALL' | 'TEXT_MESSAGE' | 'CONVERSATION_NOTE': Type of the conversation item the thread is attached to.
    - `entity_id` string: ID of the conversation item (`cll-*`, `msg-*`, or `not-*`).
    - `contact_number` string: The contact's phone number (E.164).
    - `resolved` boolean
    - `resolved_at` string, date-time, nullable
    - `resolved_by` NoteUser: Author of a note or comment.
      - `id` string
      - `name` string, nullable
    - `comment_count` integer
    - `created_at` string, date-time
    - `comments` ThreadComment[]
      - `id` string: Comment ID (`thc-*`)
      - `content` string: Comment text, with mentions inline as `@[Name](usr-...)`.
      - `user` NoteUser: Author of a note or comment.

      - `mentions` NoteMention[]
        - `user_id` string
        - `name` string, nullable
        - `deleted` boolean: `true` if the mentioned user has since been removed from the team.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request parameters
- `401`: Invalid or missing API key
- `404`: Resource not found
- `409`: Conflict with existing resource
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
