# Event: message.relayed

`POST message.relayed` (webhook)

Sent when an outbound message is relayed through an upstream email
provider and the provider assigns its own `Message-ID`. This is the
push counterpart of `GET /v1/messages/lookup`: it gives you the
original-id → provider-id mapping (one event per recipient) so you can
correlate recipient replies (whose `In-Reply-To` references the
provider id) back to the message you sent. Emitted only for mail that
relays through an upstream provider; direct sends keep your original
`Message-ID` and emit no event.

## Payload

- object: The envelope every webhook delivery POSTs to your endpoint. Per-event `data` shapes are documented in the top-level `webhooks` section. Delivery notes: deliveries are at-least-once (dedupe on `id`), may arrive out of order (use `created`), and must be acknowledged with a 2xx response within 10 seconds. Verify authenticity via the `X-Winnr-Signature` header before trusting the payload.
  - `id` string: Event ID (`evt_...`). Stable across retries — use it as an idempotency key.
  - `object` 'event'
  - `type` 'message.relayed': Event type (e.g. `message.relayed`, `test.ping`)
  - `api_version` string: Payload schema version
  - `created` string, date-time: When the event occurred (use this, not arrival order)
  - `account_id` string: The account the event belongs to
  - `data` object: Event-specific payload
    - `original_message_id` string: The Message-ID you submitted
    - `provider_message_id` string: The Message-ID the upstream provider assigned at delivery
    - `provider` string: Upstream provider identifier
    - `recipient` string: Recipient address this mapping applies to
    - `sender` string: Envelope sender address
    - `sending_domain` string: Your sending domain
    - `relayed_at` string, date-time: When the message was relayed upstream

## Acknowledgement `200`

Return any 2xx status within 10 seconds to acknowledge the event.
