# Who am I

`GET /v1/me`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://whipscribe.com/api`
- URL: `https://whipscribe.com/api/v1/me`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key`

What the server sees for this caller, including the audio retention window that applies.

## Response `200`

Caller identity.

- Me
  - `email` string, nullable: The account this caller is identified as: the signed-in user, or the owner of the API key. `null` for an anonymous caller.
  - `tier` 'guest' | 'free' | 'paid', required: Stable public field.
  - `retention_days` integer, required: Days uploaded audio is kept after a job finishes. Today every account answers 36500: recordings are kept until you delete them (`DELETE /v1/jobs/{job_id}`).
  - `signed_in` boolean, required: `true` when the request carries a user sign-in. API-key callers are identified by `email` and see `false`.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key, or the job needs an ownership proof (`X-Claim-Token`).
- `429`: Too many requests; retry with backoff (`RATE_LIMITED`, `QUOTA_EXCEEDED`).
