# Rerun a task run

`POST /task-runs/{taskRunId}/rerun`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.cloud.wherobots.com`
- URL: `https://api.cloud.wherobots.com/task-runs/{taskRunId}/rerun`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`

Run a terminal trigger task run's original window with the current task definition, recipe, region and execution principal. This is not an exact replay. Paused and automatically disabled triggers can be rerun; archived triggers cannot. Each accepted request creates a new attempt; there is no idempotency key, and a request is rejected while another attempt for the same batch or window is active.

## Path parameters

- `taskRunId` string, required: The id of the task run.

## Response `202`

Successful Response

- TaskRunAcceptedResponse: A newly accepted task run identified by its durable ID.
  - `taskRunId` string, required: ID of the accepted task run. Poll with getTaskRun.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid schedule, task inputs, or execution configuration.
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Task scheduling is disabled, permission is denied, or the trigger is archived.
- `404`: The source task run was not found.
- `409`: The source is active or not trigger-owned, another attempt for this batch or window is active, or configuration changed concurrently (including a task run ID conflict). Reload and retry configuration conflicts.
- `422`: Validation Error
- `500`: Internal Server Error
- `503`: The task run was recorded but dispatch is unavailable. Retry after the Retry-After delay for transient dispatch failures; a missing region namespace requires support or configuration repair. Each retry creates a distinct task run.
