# Delete one saved chat

`POST /api/v1/tools/delete_chat`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://whatsync.app`

- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`

Owner-only and PERMANENT: remove every saved message, file and saved contact name for one QR chat from WhatSync (nothing is deleted on WhatsApp). stopSaving also skips that person, or unselects that group, so new messages are not saved. Only invoke when the user explicitly asks to delete this chat; confirm the conversation_id first with list_conversations.
