# Send an approved WhatsApp template

`POST /api/send-template`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://whatsync.app`
- URL: `https://whatsync.app/api/send-template`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `x-service-api-key`
  - HTTP bearer

Sends a Meta-approved WhatsApp template using the official WhatsApp Business connection identified by connectionId.

## Query parameters

- `connectionId` string, required

## Request body

- SendTemplateRequest
  - `phoneNumber` string, required: Destination phone number, preferably in E.164 format.
  - `templateName` string, required: Name of a Meta-approved template.
  - `parameters` object: Template body values. param_0, param_1, and so on preserve order.
  - `language` string: Approved template language code.
  - `header` TemplateHeader: Template header. Text headers require text. Media headers require either link or id. A linked document also requires filename.
    - `type` 'text' | 'image' | 'video' | 'document', required
    - `text` string
    - `link` string, uri
    - `id` string
    - `filename` string

## Response `200`

The template request was accepted by Meta.

- `400`: The query or JSON body is invalid.
- `401`: No valid session or service API key was supplied.
- `403`: The authenticated actor may not use this connection.
- `500`: The request failed inside WhatSync or a required upstream service.
