# Get an order item

`GET /orders/{order_id}/items/{item_id}`

## Request

Retrieve an item on an order sold by the authenticated seller. Requires read:orders.

Successful Response

- OrderItem
  - `id` string, required: The order item's ID.
  - `order_id` string, required: The ID of the order containing this item.
  - `product_id` string, nullable, required: The purchased product's ID, if known.
  - `variant_id` string, nullable, required: The purchased variant's ID, if the product has variants.
  - `product_external_id` string, nullable, required: The seller-provided external ID of the purchased product, if set.
  - `variant_external_id` string, nullable, required: The seller-provided external ID of the purchased variant, if set.
  - `purchased_item` PurchasedItem, required
    - `title` string, required: The item's title when it was purchased.
    - `description` string, nullable, required: The item's description when it was purchased, if set.
    - `sku` string, nullable, required: The item's SKU when it was purchased, if set.
  - `quantity` integer, required: The number of units purchased.
  - `unit_price` Money, required
    - `amount` string, required: Decimal amount in major currency units, e.g. 42.00.
    - `currency` string, required: ISO 4217 currency code.
  - `price_includes_tax` boolean, nullable, required: Whether unit_price includes tax, if recorded.
  - `shipment_id` string, nullable, required: The ID of the shipment currently containing this item, if any.

## Other responses

- `404`: Order item not found.
- `422`: Validation Error
