  - `preset` boolean, required: Whether the engine comes from this project's list instead of NHTSA.
  - `vin8` string, nullable: The characters in position 8 of a VIN that mean this engine and no other for this model year, where the data settles it.

- `400`: `validation_failed`: `make`, `model` or `year` is missing.
