# Change the status of a conversation

`PUT /support/conversations/{id}/status`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.web2wave.com/api`

- Auth: API key in header `api_key`

Closing a conversation is recorded in the history (and counted in analytics) for the key's team member; with a project key there is no person behind it.

  - `status` 'unread' | 'open' | 'closed', required

## Response `200`

`conversation` and `changed` (false when it already had this status)

## Other responses

- `404`: Not found
- `422`: Invalid status
