# Transcribe a call recording

`PUT /v1/cdrs/{call_id}/retranscribe`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.wavix.com`
- URL: `https://api.wavix.com/v1/cdrs/{call_id}/retranscribe`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Transcribes the recording of the call identified by `call_id`. Transcription is asynchronous; poll the transcription endpoint for the result. When it completes, the new transcription replaces any earlier one that the transcription endpoints return. Billed per minute at the account's call-transcription rate; fails with an insufficient-funds error when the balance cannot cover it.

- `call_id` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- CDRRetranscriptionRequest
  - `language` 'en' | 'de' | 'es' | 'fr' | 'it' | 'null', nullable: Language of the transcription, as a two-letter ISO 639-1 code. One of `en` (English), `de` (German), `es` (Spanish), `fr` (French), or `it` (Italian). `null` lets the platform auto-detect the language.
  - `webhook_url` string: Webhook URL to receive status updates.

## Response `200`

Returns a success confirmation. Transcription is queued.

  - `success` boolean, required: Indicates whether the request was successful.

## Other responses

- `400`: Request failed. Missing or invalid parameter <param_name>
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Request failed. The feature is disabled for your account.
- `404`: Request failed. An object with the specified ID is not found.
- `422`: Validation error
