# Submit a ping using POST

`POST /ping/{identifier}/{action_or_slug}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://watchgoose.com`
- URL: `https://watchgoose.com/ping/{identifier}/{action_or_slug}`
- Auth: none required

The URL identifiers are capability secrets. Anyone who knows this URL can submit a ping, so do not publish or log it unnecessarily. The create=1 option and 201 response apply only to the ping-key/slug form.

## Query parameters

- `rid` string, uuid
- `create` 1

## Response `200`

Ping accepted.

## Other responses

- `201`: Check created and ping accepted.
- `400`: Invalid action or run identifier.
- `403`: The project has reached its check limit.
- `404`: Check not found.
- `409`: The slug is ambiguous.
