# Search WARN Act layoff records

`GET /api/records`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://warnfirehose.com` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://warnfirehose.com/api/records`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key`

Returns WARN Act layoff notices with optional filters. Anonymous callers receive the last 30 days of history and the 500 most-recent records. A free API key widens history to 90 days. These are different audiences, not different documentation of the same limit. Authenticated callers receive up to their tier limit. Use `state` (2-letter code or slug), `company` (partial name), `city`, `date_from`/`date_to`, `industry`, or `naics_code` to narrow results.

## Query parameters

- `layoff_type` string, nullable
- `ticker` string, nullable
- `has_ticker` boolean, nullable
- `sort` string
- `order` string
- `limit` integer
- `offset` integer
- `location_links` boolean: Add a `location_path` field to each record: the /layoffs path that location actually resolves to on the site, which is the city page only when that page exists and the state index otherwise. Opt-in; off by default the response is unchanged.
