# Top H-1B employers by initial approvals

`GET /api/h1b/employers`

## Request

Returns H-1B visa sponsorship data grouped by employer. Filter by `state` (2-letter code), `fiscal_year` (e.g. 2023), or partial `employer` name. Defaults to the most recent fiscal year; pass `all_time=1` for totals across every fiscal year held, which are labelled with `fiscal_year_from`..`fiscal_year`. Coverage is reported in the X-H1B-Coverage-First/Last response headers, so an empty result outside that range is distinguishable from an employer with no petitions. H-1B visa holders should cross-reference this endpoint with /api/records to check their employer's layoff history.
