# Check remaining verification allowance

`GET /verification/allowance`

## Request

Returns whether this account can check an address right now and what would pay for it — the plan allowance left this month and today, any monthly add-on allowance (addon_monthly_allowance / addon_remaining — not paced daily), the purchased credit balance, free checks left today, and the largest run accepted. Read this before submitting so you never discover a limit by being refused.

Required scope: `verification:read`.

`can_verify_now` is the field to branch on: true means a check would be admitted this instant, whatever is funding it.

`access_source` says what would pay for it — `plan` (monthly allowance), `credits` (purchased, no subscription needed), `free_daily` (the one free check per day), or `none`.

`verifiable_now` counts plan allowance plus credit headroom ONLY. It reads 0 for an account running on its free daily check, so do not read it as "no access" — check `can_verify_now` and `free_checks_remaining_today` first.

Purchased credits never expire, need no subscription, and are only ever spent on a confirmed result.

## Other responses

- `401`: `unauthorized` — Missing or invalid API key.
- `403`: `verifier_access_required` — This account is on hold, so its verification data cannot be read.; `insufficient_scope` — The API key lacks the scope this endpoint requires.
- `429`: `rate_limited` — Too many requests — slow down and retry after the Retry-After delay.
- `503`: `verifier_access_required` — We could not read this account's verification entitlement. This is NOT a refusal — retry shortly rather than treating the account as ineligible.
