# Triage an email conversation

`PATCH /inbox/conversations/{id}`

## Request

Change how an email conversation is filed: status (open, closed, snoozed with snoozeUntil), sentiment, unread, starred, or assignedTo (a workspace member's user id, or null). Closing a conversation, or labelling it out-of-office or spam, removes it from Needs Reply; a new message from the contact reopens it. Labelling ooo resumes the campaign for that contact. Nothing is sent. LinkedIn, Instagram and WhatsApp chats cannot be changed here.

Required scope: `campaigns:write`.

  - `status` 'open' | 'closed' | 'snoozed': Open, closed, or snoozed (pair snoozed with snoozeUntil).
  - `snoozeUntil` string: ISO 8601 date-time, or null to clear.
  - `sentiment` 'positive' | 'negative' | 'neutral' | 'ooo' | 'spam' | 'uncategorized': How the reply reads; ooo marks an out-of-office and resumes the campaign.
  - `unread` boolean: true to mark unread, false to mark read.
  - `starred` boolean: Star or unstar the conversation.
  - `assignedTo` string: A workspace member's user id, or null to unassign.

## Other responses

- `400`: `validation_error` — A value is not allowed, assignedTo is not a member, or nothing was given to change.
- `401`: `unauthorized` — Missing or invalid API key.
- `403`: `insufficient_scope` — The API key lacks the scope this endpoint requires.
- `404`: `not_found` — No such email conversation in your workspace.
- `429`: `rate_limited` — Too many requests — slow down and retry after the Retry-After delay.
