# Account limits

`GET /account`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

The account's spending limits, what has been spent and what is left, the approval rules, and whether a card is saved for automatic payment. Check this before booking.

## Response `200`

OK

- Account
  - `object` string: Always "account".
  - `id` string: The account id.
  - `email` string: The account holder's email.
  - `name` string, nullable: The account name.
  - `livemode` boolean: False for a sandbox connection.
  - `key` object: The key or connection in use.
    - `id` string: Key or connection id.
    - `name` string, nullable: Its name.
    - `scope` string: read, quote or book.
    - `kind` string: key or oauth.
  - `limits` object: Spending limits and approval rules, in US dollars.
    - `per_booking_usd` number: Most one booking may cost.
    - `monthly_usd` number: Most that may be spent in a calendar month.
    - `total_usd` number, nullable: Most that may ever be spent; null for no limit.
    - `auto_approve_under_usd` number: Bookings up to this go ahead without the account holder's approval.
    - `approve_new_venues` boolean: Whether a booking with a venue never paid for before always waits for approval.
  - `spend` object: Committed spend.
    - `this_month_usd` number: Spent this month.
    - `total_usd` number: Spent in all.
  - `remaining` object: What can still be spent.
    - `this_month_usd` number: Left this month.
    - `total_usd` number, nullable: Left overall; null for no limit.
  - `payment` object: Saved payment method.
    - `card_on_file` boolean: Whether bookings can be paid automatically.
    - `card` string, nullable: The saved card, e.g. "Visa •••• 4242".
  - `approval_policy` string: The approval rules in plain language.
