# Update pay item

`PUT /payslips/{payslip_id}/pay-items/{id}/`

Endpoint for updating an existing pay item.

- ApiV1PayItem: A pay item of a payslip, such as a salary component or deduction.
  - `account` string, required: The account associated with this pay item.
  - `amount` number, double, required: The unit amount for the pay item.
  - `cost_center` string, nullable: The cost center associated with this pay item.
  - `created_ts` string, date-time, required: The timestamp in UTC when the pay item was created
  - `description` string, required: The line item description for the pay item.
  - `id` string, required: The unique identifier of the pay item.
  - `legacy_id` string, required: [Deprecated] The legacy identifier of the pay item.
  - `modified_ts` string, date-time, required: The timestamp in UTC when the pay item was last modified
