# Correct a contact

`PATCH /contacts/{id}`

## Request

Correct a contact's names, email, merge fields (a whole-map replace) or tags. Consent and opt-out are deliberately out of reach here: recording or clearing them is compliance-sensitive and stays with a human operator.

  - `attributes` object, nullable: Whole-map replace of the {{merge field}} values.

## Response `200`

- `400`: Arguments failed validation.
- `401`: Missing or invalid agent key.
- `403`: Key does not hold the contacts:write scope.
- `429`: Rate limited.
