# Resize an instance (not available for marketplace orders)

`POST /v1/instances/{id}/resize`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.vozora.io`
- URL: `https://api.vozora.io/v1/instances/{id}/resize`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

NOT AVAILABLE for marketplace orders — which is every server you can order today. A marketplace order is refused with 422 marketplace_resize_unsupported ("this server was ordered from the marketplace and cannot be resized yet"). Size the server correctly when you order it; to grow, order a new server at the size you need and migrate onto it. When resize is available, it is accepted asynchronously — poll the instance to observe the new specification.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Request body

- ProvisioningResizeRequest
  - `cpu_millicores` integer
  - `disk_mb` integer
  - `memory_mb` integer

## Response `202`

Accepted

- ProvisioningResizeResponse
  - `status` string: always "resize_enqueued"

## Other responses

- `400`: bad_json — the body is not valid JSON
- `401`: invalid or missing API key
- `402`: the resize could not be paid for
- `403`: the key lacks instances:write
- `404`: no such instance
- `409`: illegal_transition — the instance is not in a resizable state
- `422`: invalid_resize — the requested specification is not acceptable; or marketplace_resize_unsupported — the server was ordered from the marketplace and cannot be resized yet, which is every server orderable today
