# Regenerate an ai summary.

`POST /aisummaries/{id}/regenerate`

Regenerates the content of an existing ai summary in place, keeping the same summary ID. Unlike creating a new summary, this always re-runs the summary generation for the referenced resource (bypassing the create-path deduplication), so an explicit Regenerate reliably produces fresh content. Optionally re-select the output language: when a different `language` is supplied the existing summary is replaced with the new-language summary on the same record (one summary per recording is kept); when `language` is omitted the existing summary's language is preserved. Regeneration runs the content generation first and only overwrites the record on success, so a failed regeneration leaves the existing content intact. Supported only for summaries whose `reference_type` is `recording`.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- object
  - `language` string — BCP47 language code for the regenerated summary output (e.g., en-US, ko-KR). Controls only the language the summary is written in; it is independent of the transcription (STT) language. When omitted the existing summary's language is preserved; when a different value is supplied the summary is replaced with the new-language summary on the same record.

## Response `200`

Details of the regenerated ai summary.

- AIManagerSummary
  - `id` string, uuid — The unique identifier of the summary.
  - `customer_id` string, uuid — The unique identifier of the associated customer. Returned from the `GET /customers` response.
  - `activeflow_id` string, uuid — The unique identifier of the activeflow. Returned from the `GET /activeflows` response.
  - `on_end_flow_id` string, uuid — The unique identifier of the flow to execute when the summary completes. Returned from the `POST /flows` or `GET /flows` response.
  - `reference_type` '' | 'call' | 'conference' | 'transcribe' | 'recording' — Type of reference for the AI summary.
  - `reference_id` string, uuid — The unique identifier of the referenced resource. The actual resource type is determined by reference_type. Returned from the corresponding resource endpoint.
  - `status` '' | 'progressing' | 'done' — Status of the AI summary generation.
  - `language` string — BCP47 language code for the summary output (e.g., en-US, ko-KR). This controls only the language the summary is written in; it is independent of the transcription (STT) language. The server reuses an existing transcription when available and translates the summary into this output language.
  - `content` string — Content of the summary.
  - `tm_create` string, date-time — Timestamp when the summary was created.
  - `tm_update` string, date-time — Timestamp when the summary was last updated.
  - `tm_delete` string, date-time — Timestamp when the summary was deleted.
