# Create SRT subtitles

`POST /actions/subtitles_create`

## Request

Create editable SRT subtitles from uploaded audio or video, with optional caption layout settings. Returns a compact saved-result reference; use its getAction or downloadAction to retrieve the complete output.

  - `fileKey` string, required: An owned fileKey returned by a completed upload or media import. Each generation consumes its uploaded source.

  - `keyterms` string[]
  - `requestId` string, uuid: UUID v4 for this action. Reuse the same ID with identical arguments on retries.
  - `subtitleLayout` object
    - `maxLinesPerCaption` union, required
      - 1
      - 2
      - 3
    - `maxCharactersPerLine` integer, required
