# Lookup Skill

`POST /v1/skills/lookup`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.vlm.run` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.vlm.run/v1/skills/lookup`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Lookup a skill by ID, name, or name+version.

## Request body

- SkillLookupRequest: Request to lookup a skill.
  - `name` string, nullable: The name of the skill (e.g. 'pillow', 'batch-processing')
  - `id` string, nullable: The ID of the skill (UUID)
  - `skill_version` string, nullable: Skill version to look up (e.g. '20260219-abc123'). When provided with name, filters by exact version instead of returning latest.
  - `version` string, nullable: DEPRECATED: Use 'skill_version' instead.

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- SkillInfoResponse: Skill information response.
  - `id` string, required: Unique skill identifier
  - `name` string, required: Name of the skill
  - `description` string, required: Description of the skill
  - `skill_version` string: Version of the skill
  - `skill_uri` string, nullable: GCS URI of the skill zip file
  - `is_public` boolean: Whether the skill is publicly accessible
  - `created_at` string, date-time, nullable: Date and time when the skill was created
  - `updated_at` string, date-time, nullable: Date and time when the skill was updated
