# Create Key

`POST /v1/keys`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.vistalink.com`
- URL: `https://api.vistalink.com/v1/keys`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Generate a new API key for the authenticated tenant.

## Request body

- CreateKeyRequest: POST /v1/keys request body.
  - `environment` string
  - `label` string, nullable

## Response `201`

Successful Response

- ApiKeyResponse: Response after creating an API key (includes full key, shown once).
  - `key_id` string, uuid, required
  - `key` string, required: Full API key — save this, it won't be shown again
  - `prefix` string, required
  - `environment` string, required
  - `label` string, nullable
  - `created_at` string, date-time, required

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthorized
- `422`: Validation Error
