# Create a user in your organization

`POST /api/v1/users`

Creates a user in your organization. The email must belong to one of your organization's domains.

Optionally pass `businessUnit` with the name of an existing business unit (case-insensitive) to assign the
user to it; use `GET /api/v1/business-units` to list the available names. If omitted, the user is assigned
to the Unassigned business unit.

  - `email` string, required
  - `firstName` string, required
  - `lastName` string, required
  - `businessUnit` string: Name of the business unit to assign the user to (case-insensitive). Defaults to the Unassigned business unit when omitted.
