# Delete a knowledge source

`DELETE /knowledge/sources/{sourceId}`

Permanently delete the requested knowledge source/chunks (and associated stored asset when present) under existing service behavior. Discover sourceId through list_knowledge_sources, inspect includeInactive=true first, and reconcile after an ambiguous failure. Use deactivation for reversible removal from retrieval; managed websites should use delete_knowledge_website. Deletion is not historical trace erasure. Required permission: knowledge:write.
