# Upload a recording for analysis

`POST /recordings`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.virtuosis.ai/v1.2`
- URL: `https://api.virtuosis.ai/v1.2/recordings`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Uploads a Base64-encoded audio file. Analysis processing is triggered on a successful
upload and may take up to five minutes to complete.

Minimum audio requirements:
- Format: WAV, MP3, MP4, or OGG
- Sample rate: 8,000 Hz
- Bit rate: 32,000 bps
- Channels: 1 (mono)
- Duration: 30 seconds of speech
- Maximum file size: 50 MB

## Request body

- UploadRecordingRequest
  - `account_id` string, uuid, required: The ID of the account submitting the recording.
  - `recorded_at` string, date-time, required: ISO 8601 timestamp of when the recording began.
  - `analysis` AnalysisType[], required: Analysis types to run. Must contain at least one type.
  - `audio` string, required: Base64-encoded audio file.

## Response `200`

Recording uploaded

- UploadRecordingResponse
  - `recording_id` string, uuid: The recording ID used for fetching analysis results.
  - `account_id` string, uuid: The ID of the account that submitted the recording.
  - `recorded_at` string, date-time: ISO 8601 timestamp of when the recording began.
  - `uploaded_at` string, date-time: ISO 8601 timestamp of when the recording was uploaded.
  - `audio_file_format` string: Detected audio file format.
  - `audio_size_bytes` integer: Audio file size in bytes.
  - `audio_sample_rate_hz` integer: Audio sample rate in Hz.
  - `audio_bit_rate_bps` integer: Audio bit rate in bits per second.
  - `audio_duration_seconds` number, double: Total audio duration in seconds.
  - `speech_duration_seconds` number, double: Detected speech duration in seconds.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Requested analysis is not enabled, or access is suspended
- `413`: File too large (max 50 MB)
- `500`: Internal server error
