# Get genre benchmarks for a comet

`GET /v1/comet/{id}/benchmarks`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.virlo.ai`

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Median engagement rate, follower count, niche video count, and posting frequency across the niche's creators, bucketed by follower tier (nano/micro/mid/macro). Free — reads on already-paid-for data. Useful for "how does a creator compare to the genre norm?".

Benchmarks by follower tier

    - `follower_tier` 'macro' | 'mid' | 'micro' | 'nano' | 'unknown', required
    - `creator_count` number, required
    - `median_engagement_rate` number, nullable: Median engagement rate across creators in this tier
    - `median_followers` number, nullable
    - `median_videos_in_niche` number, nullable: Median # of niche videos per creator
    - `median_posting_frequency_days` number, nullable: Median days between posts (within the niche window)

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthorized - missing or invalid API key
- `404`: Comet configuration not found
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded (`rate_limit_exceeded`); see the Retry-After header
