# Download Post Media

`POST /api/v1/posts/media`

## Request

Returns direct media URLs for a tracked post, the video file, or slideshow images with positions. Accepts a public post URL or an internal post id. When media is not stored yet it queues an on-demand fetch and returns a jobRef to poll (typically ready within ~90 seconds); call again once complete. Platform CDN URLs can expire, so download promptly. YouTube currently returns the thumbnail image. You are responsible for using downloaded media in line with the platforms' terms and applicable law.

Cost: 3 credits per call. Asynchronous: poll GET /api/v1/jobs/{jobRef}.

  - `url` string: Public post URL. The easy path when you have a link.
  - `postId` string: Internal post id. Provide this or url.

- `401`: Invalid or revoked API key (or, on free skills, no key sent); code key_suspended means the key was suspended when its account was claimed by the email owner and can be reactivated in Settings
- `402`: Payment required. Without an API key (billable skills only) the code is payment_required and error.payment.checkoutUrl (or, when no link is configured, error.payment.pageUrl at https://viraloutliers.com/api-access) buys a key without an account; with a key it is insufficient_credits and error.payment points at create_topup_link.
- `429`: Rate limited
