# Remove account from project

`DELETE /projects/{projectId}/accounts/{accountId}`

## Request

Removes the association between a tracked account and a project.

**Deprecated.** Set the account's complete tag set without the project's virtual project tag via `PUT /accounts/tracked/{orgAccountId}/tags`. See the [migration guide](/docs/brands/tags/migration-from-projects).

## Path parameters

- `projectId` string, required: Organization project ID with orgproj_ prefix
- `accountId` string, required: Organization account ID with orgacc_ prefix. Not the same as platform account ID.
