# Update a group chat

`PATCH /chat/groups/{chatId}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://viral.app/api/v1`
- URL: `https://viral.app/api/v1/chat/groups/{chatId}`
- Auth: API key in header `x-api-key`

Renames a group (`title`, `publicTitle`; any kind) and/or adds and removes members of a `manual` group (`addOrgCreatorIds`, `removeOrgCreatorIds`). The members of `campaign` and `all` groups follow their roster: editing them returns 400 `MANUAL_ONLY`. Removed creators lose access to the group at once.
