# Get Current User

`GET /v2/user/me`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.village.ai`
- URL: `https://api.village.ai/v2/user/me`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Get profile information for the authenticated user. Use this to verify authentication is working and check sync status. Returns: external user id, email, name, account creation date, and sync completion status (is_sync_complete). The is_sync_complete flag indicates whether the user's network data is ready for queries. Two fields describe the partner-app link, not the user: is_active is false and id is an empty string whenever the caller is a direct Village user rather than a partner application. That is normal — it does not mean the account is inactive or unidentified. Identify the user by email and ignore both fields.

    - `id` string, required: External user identifier provided by the partner application. Empty string for direct Village user tokens, which have no partner-app link — use email to identify the user in that case.

    - `created_at` string, date-time, required: Account creation timestamp in ISO 8601 format
    - `is_sync_complete` boolean, required: Whether the user has completed syncing their network data
    - `is_active` boolean, required: Whether this caller is authorized through a partner application. True only for partner-app tokens; false for direct Village user tokens, which have no partner-app link. It is NOT the user's account, subscription, or sync status — a false value does not mean the account is disabled. Do not branch on it.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request - invalid parameters
- `401`: Unauthorized - missing or invalid authentication
- `404`: User not found in the partner app
