# Check Company Paths

`POST /v2/companies/paths/check`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.village.ai`
- URL: `https://api.village.ai/v2/companies/paths/check`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Quickly check if you have connections to a company without fetching full details. Use this for fast previews in lists or search results before calling get_company_paths. Returns: whether paths exist, overall connection score, count of reachable people, and avatar thumbnails of top connectors. Much faster than get_company_paths.

## Request body

- union: Company identifier - provide one of: domain, linkedin_url, or url
  - object: Company by domain
    - `domain` string, required: Company domain (normalized, without www prefix)
  - object: Company by LinkedIn URL
    - `linkedin_url` string, required: LinkedIn company page URL
  - object: Company by generic URL (auto-detected)
    - `url` string, required

## Response `200`

Company check completed successfully

    - `has_paths` boolean, required: Whether any introduction paths exist
    - `score` number, nullable, required: Warmth score, open-ended (higher is warmer): Excellent 10+, Very Good 7.5+, Good 4+, Okay 1+, Maybe 0.1+, below that Not enough data. Null if no paths.
    - `score_label` string, nullable, required: Human-readable score label: "Excellent", "Very Good", "Good", "Okay", "Maybe" or "Not enough data"
    - `count` number, required: Number of people with paths at this company
    - `avatars` string[], required: Facepile avatar URLs (max 10)
  - `metadata` object, required
    - `request_id` string, required

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request - invalid parameters
- `401`: Unauthorized - missing or invalid authentication
