# Upload a video

`POST /v1/videos/upload`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.vidocu.ai`
- URL: `https://api.vidocu.ai/v1/videos/upload`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - OAuth 2 (authorization code, authorization URL `https://vidocu.ai/oauth/authorize`, token URL `https://api.vidocu.ai/oauth/token`)

Accepts a direct file (multipart), a `videoUrl` to fetch, or `filename` + `contentType` to get a presigned upload URL.

**Scope:** `videos:write`

**Role permission:** `canCreate` (OAuth only — API keys carry full workspace permissions)

  - `name` string
  - `videoContext` string
  - `projectId` string
  - `aiGeneratedAudio` boolean: Declare that this video's own audio is already AI-generated (voiced with another tool). Exports and the package manifest then mark it as AI-generated audio (EU AI Act Art. 50(2)). Vidocu's own voiceovers are marked automatically.

## Other responses

- `400`: Validation error
- `401`: Invalid or missing credentials
- `403`: Missing scope (`insufficient_scope`), insufficient role (`insufficient_role`), or quota exhausted (`limit_exceeded`)
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded (60 req/min)
- `500`: Server error
