# Generate AI stills

`POST /v1/ai-media/stills`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.vidocu.ai`
- URL: `https://api.vidocu.ai/v1/ai-media/stills`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - OAuth 2 (authorization code, authorization URL `https://vidocu.ai/oauth/authorize`, token URL `https://api.vidocu.ai/oauth/token`)

1-4 still frames for one shot, in the chosen style. Each still that succeeds is charged; a refused one costs nothing.

**Scope:** `studio:write`

**Role permission:** `canCreate` (OAuth only — API keys carry full workspace permissions)

  - `shot` object, required: One shot, as short phrases. Get one from POST /v1/ai-media/shot, or write it yourself.
    - `subject` string
    - `action` string
    - `setting` string
    - `framing` string
    - `camera` string
    - `lighting` string
  - `preset` 'documentary' | 'studio' | 'onSite' | 'cinematic' | 'isometric3d' | 'flat2d' | 'cartoon3d' | 'storybook' | 'claymation' | 'whiteboard' | 'classroom' | 'brand'
  - `styleNote` string: Your own style words on top of the preset, e.g. "navy coveralls, pastel colors"
  - `aspectRatio` '16:9' | '9:16': Default 16:9
  - `count` integer: Stills to generate, each charged. Default 1
  - `referenceUrl` string, uri: An image in this workspace whose people and setting the stills should keep
  - `studioProjectId` string

## Response `201`

Stills generated (check each item's status)

## Other responses

- `400`: Validation error
- `401`: Invalid or missing credentials
- `402`: Not enough credits, or not on a paid plan
- `403`: Missing scope (`insufficient_scope`), insufficient role (`insufficient_role`), or quota exhausted (`limit_exceeded`)
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded (60 req/min)
- `500`: Server error
