# Search Vettigo clients

`GET /workspaces/{workspaceId}/vettigo/clients`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://vetnio.com/api/v2`
- URL: `https://vetnio.com/api/v2/workspaces/{workspaceId}/vettigo/clients`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Searches clients (owners) by name in the Vettigo clinic the caller last launched Vetnio from, using Vettigo's own search. Returns at most 50 clients. Queries shorter than 3 characters (after trimming) return an empty list without contacting Vettigo. Returns `401` when the caller has no linked Vettigo account and `429` when Vettigo's rate limit is hit.

## Path parameters

- `workspaceId` string, required: Identifier of the Vetnio workspace (clinic). The caller must be a member. The Vettigo clinic used is the one the caller last launched Vetnio from, not something configured on the workspace.

## Query parameters

- `query` string, required: Name or part of a name to search for. At least 3 characters after trimming; avoid commas, which Vettigo treats as separators.

## Response `200`

Matching clients.

- object: Clients returned by Vettigo's name search.
  - `clients` object[], required: Matching clients, at most 50, in Vettigo's order. Empty when the query is shorter than 3 characters.
    - `id` number, required: Vettigo client id. Pass it as `clientId` to list the client's animals.
    - `name` string, required: Client name from Vettigo, or `#<id>` when Vettigo has none.
    - `clientNumber` number, nullable, required: The clinic's customer number for this client in Vettigo, or `null`. The search result has no contact details, so this is the only way to tell clients with the same name apart.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid input data
- `401`: Authorization not provided
- `403`: Insufficient access
- `404`: Not found
- `500`: Internal server error
