# Get a patient by id

`GET /api/patients/{patientId}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.veterical.com`
- URL: `https://api.veterical.com/api/patients/{patientId}`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP basic
  - API key in header `Authorization`

Fetch a single patient owned by the API key's clinic. Requires the `patients:read` scope. Returns 404 for a patient outside the key's clinic or organization so ids cannot be probed.

## Path parameters

- `patientId` string, required

## Response `200`

The patient

## Other responses

- `404`: Not found (or not owned by the caller)
