# Fetch an insurance provider

`GET /ext/v2/insurance-providers/{insurance_provider_id}/`

Fetches a pet insurance provider by its ID.

**Insurance providers** are a reference list of pet insurance companies (e.g., Trupanion, Nationwide). When a clinic patient has insurance, their record references one of these providers. This is a global reference table, not scoped to a specific organization.

- `insurance_provider_id` integer, required: The ID of the insurance provider to fetch
