# Create vset

Create a volume set

## Path parameters

- `DgId` string, required

## Query parameters

- `nodename` string

## Request body

- object
  - `Name` string, required: Name of the vset
  - `AutoCreateVolumes` boolean: Specify true or false based on whether the volumes should be created implicitly
  - `Size` string, required: Size of the vset specified when AutoCreateVols is true
  - `Tag` string: Associates a tag name and optional tag value with a vset.
  - `Attributes` object[]: Volume attributes to be specified when AutoCreateVols is true. If only meta-data type is specified create meta-data vol with 100% size, if both data and meta-data types are specified assign 12% size to meta-data and remaining to data. Volume Type combinations like both data, both meta-data or only data type passed will fail.
    - `Type` 'data' | 'meta-data', required: Specifies the type of volume
    - `AllowSpansites` boolean: Specify true or false to allow spansites
    - `Nparity` integer: Number of parity columns for EC layout
    - `Ncol` integer: Number of data columns for EC layout
    - `Nmirror` integer: Number of mirrors for mirrored layout
    - `EclogDisk` object[]: Space seperated list of disks to create eclog
      - `DmName` string: Disk media name
    - `StorageSpecification` string: Storage specification to select certain types of disks for the allocation during volume creation like mediatype:ssd or ctlr:c1 etc.
    - `DcoStorageSpec` string: Storage specification for DCO volumes
    - `NdcoMirrors` integer: Specify the number of mirrors in the DCO volume
    - `RegionSize` string: Specify the region size
    - `Ecloglen` string: Specifies the size of log per column for ecoded volume
    - `Stripe` 'enclr' | 'ctlr' | 'host' | 'site': Specifies that volumes should be striped across instances of a particular disk class
    - `StripeAligned` boolean: Specify true or false based on whether the object allocations are aligned to stripe length.
    - `StripeUnit` string: Specifies the stripe unit size to use for ecoded volume or for striped plexes
    - `StripeConfine` string: Specifies a required list of disk classes for confining a stripe
    - `Layout` 'concat' | 'mirror' | 'ecoded' | 'stripe' | 'mirror-stripe' | 'mirror-concat' | 'concat-mirror' | 'stripe-mirror', required: Layout of volume E.g. mirror, concat, ecoded, etc
    - `Init` string: Specify how to initialize a volume
    - `Logtype` string: Type of log to be associated like dco, dcm, old style drl etc.
  - `VolumeList` object[]: Volumes to be added to vset, specified when AutoCreateVols is false
    - `VolId` string: Name of the volume to be added to vset
    - `Index` integer: Index of the volume

The request has succeeded.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request
- `401`: The requested operation requires authentication.
- `403`: Forbidden
- `404`: Object that the endpoint is working on is not found.
