# Get Custom Field Usage

`GET /custom-fields/definitions/by-id/{id}/usage`

## Request

- Base URL: `/api` (relative, and the document was published on a file host, not at the API’s origin)
- URL: `/api/custom-fields/definitions/by-id/{id}/usage`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Requires role: Admin

## Response `200`

Answer counts. total is the number of saved answers; by_option maps each option to its count: the option id for scored select, the option text for select and multiselect (a multiselect record counts once per option it holds); empty for other types.
