# Suggest entries as a name is typed

`GET /get_data`

## Request

What the search box suggests: up to 10 entries whose name starts with, contains or nearly matches the text, best first. With no text, the trending entries. A blocked word answers `["block"]`. Its shape is the old site’s, kept for the search box; for anything else `GET /api/v1/search` is the better read, with paging and the entries’ details.

Same-origin only: it sends no CORS headers. A key is not needed. One that is sent is checked: a bad one is refused (400 or 401) before the route runs, and a good one makes the answer private (`Cache-Control: no-store`, `Vary: Authorization`).

## Response `200`

The suggestions, or `["block"]`.

  - `V` '0' | '1', required: `1`: the entry is verified.
  - `S` string, required: How often the entry has been in the spotlight, as digits.
  - `T` '1' | '', required: `1`: the entry is trending now.

## Other responses

- `400`: A key and a session cookie were both sent.
- `401`: The key sent was refused.
- `429`: Too many requests from this IP address in the last minute (at a route that takes a key, an admin key’s are counted per key instead, at the limits set on Console → Rate limits). Wait the number of seconds `Retry-After` gives.
- `503`: The site is down for maintenance. The body is the maintenance page, as HTML. Try again later: `Retry-After` gives the seconds.
