# When an entry last changed

`GET /{key}/freshness`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://verifiedhandles.org`

- Auth: one of:
  - none
  - HTTP bearer

When the entry last changed, never cached: a cheap way to tell whether a copy you hold is stale. An old name answers for the entry it leads to. Each call counts as someone reading the entry, which helps decide what the Wikidata sync refreshes first; add `quiet` to a call that should not count.

## Response `200`

When it last changed.

- Freshness: When an entry last changed.
  - `updated_at` string, date-time, required: The entry’s last change.

## Other responses

- `404`: No public entry answers to that key.
- `503`: The site is down for maintenance. The body is the maintenance page, as HTML. Try again later: `Retry-After` gives the seconds.
