# Road width at a plot

`POST /api/v1/tools/road_width`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://verified.realestate`
- URL: `https://verified.realestate/api/v1/tools/road_width`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

The WIDTH of the road(s) the property fronts, measured from the cadastral map. Use for "what is the road width of my property / of my plot", "how wide is the road in front", "road width", "சாலை அகலம்", "ரோடு அகலம்". Give a latitude/longitude (from a dropped pin or a resolved survey). It finds the boundary-sharing road/street parcels (a corner plot has several, all returned) and reports, for each one, the road width in metres AT THE START and AT THE END of that plot's frontage on it (the two points where the plot boundary begins and stops running along the road), plus the frontage length between them. If no adjacent parcel is a recorded road, it says there is no cadastred road frontage rather than inventing a number. Do NOT use this for "does it touch a road", "is it landlocked" or "does it have road access": that is an ACCESS yes/no answered by the adjoining-parcels check (its road_access field), and running road_width for it charges the user for a width they did not ask for. Use road_width ONLY when the user asks how WIDE the road is. Costs 2 credits per call, waived when nothing is found.

## Request body

- object
  - `lat` number, required: Latitude in decimal degrees (from a pin or resolved parcel)
  - `lng` number, required: Longitude in decimal degrees
  - `survey_number` string: ALWAYS pass the survey number (without the sub-division) when the plot is already resolved or selected, so the width anchors to that exact parcel. Without it the plot is picked by the point alone, and a centroid near a boundary can measure the NEIGHBOUR's frontage.
  - `sub_division` string: Sub-division of the resolved plot, e.g. "114" for 1017/114
  - `village_code` string: Village code of the resolved plot, when known
