# District, taluk and village directory

BROWSE THE REVENUE DIRECTORY and collect the codes every land record tool needs: pass nothing for the districts, a district_code for its taluks, a district_code + taluk_code for its villages (register "rural") or towns (register "urban"), and for a town add village_code for its wards and ward_code for its blocks. Optional search filters the list by part of a name. Use when the caller does not know how a place is written in the register, when several places share a name, when they want every village in a taluk, or when they need the ward and block of a town before a town survey lookup. ONE known place name straight to its codes is the separate place-name lookup: that is a resolver, this is the list. The codes returned are ready for the land record, owner, subdivision and EC tools and the rest. Free.

  - `register` 'rural' | 'urban': rural for revenue villages (patta, chitta, A-register), urban for towns, wards and blocks (town survey / TSLR). Default rural.
  - `district_code` string: Revenue district code, e.g. "02". Omit for the list of districts.
  - `taluk_code` string: Revenue taluk code, e.g. "01". Omit for the list of taluks in the district.
  - `village_code` string: Village or town code. Urban only, and only to list the wards of that town.
  - `ward_code` string: Ward code. Urban only, to list the blocks of that ward.
  - `search` string: Return only entries whose name contains this text. Use it when a taluk holds hundreds of villages.

## Other responses

- `401`: No valid credential
- `402`: Not enough credits
- `429`: Rate limit
