# Resolve revenue codes

`POST /api/v1/tools/resolve_revenue_codes`

Convert district / taluk / village (or town) NAMES into the revenue codes that the survey, ownership and owner-search tools need. Tolerates minor misspellings. Call this FIRST whenever the user gives place names instead of codes. A village or town name on its own is enough: it is looked up statewide, allowing for common spelling variants (doubled letters, an -a / -ai / -am ending), and resolves only when exactly one place fits; several fits come back as choices. Free.

## Request body

  - `district_name` string: District name, e.g. Tiruvannamalai. Leave it out rather than guess: a village_name alone is looked up statewide.
  - `taluk_name` string: Taluk name, e.g. Arani
  - `village_name` string: Village or town name, e.g. Thatchur

## Response `200`

The envelope: ok, status, data, credits_charged, balance_after, request_id

## Other responses

- `401`: No valid credential
- `402`: Not enough credits
- `429`: Rate limit
