# Owner of a survey, from the register copy

`POST /api/v1/tools/plot_owner`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://verified.realestate`
- URL: `https://verified.realestate/api/v1/tools/plot_owner`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Name the recorded owner of a village or town survey from the revenue register (the village A-register, or the town survey register for a town survey), keyed by district/taluk/village codes + survey number. It does NOT call any government portal, so it is the FALLBACK when the land record fetch fails because the government patta portal is down, so you can still name the owner. Call the source "the revenue A-register" when you answer, never "our offline register" or "our ownership register", and say it should be confirmed against the official patta. Resolve the parcel first for the revenue codes. Rural only; for urban parcels the land record fetch already falls back to the town survey register (TSLR). NEVER use this for a village-wide or area-wide LAND HUNT ("find parcels in X", re-running an earlier sweep with exclusions or size filters): that is the area discovery sweep (or radius/region discovery on a map selection), where exclusions are a parameter. This tool lists owners of ONE survey number at most. Costs 1 credit per call, waived when nothing is found.

## Request body

- object
  - `survey_number` string, required: Survey number, e.g. "178" or "178/1C"
  - `sub_division` string: Sub-division, if any (e.g. "1C")
  - `district_code` string, required
  - `taluk_code` string, required
  - `village_code` string, required
  - `register` 'rural' | 'urban': Which register the codes belong to. "urban" means the town survey register (TSLR) and its town code; pass it whenever the parcel was resolved as a town survey, because the two registers number their villages and towns separately and the same code means a different place in each.
  - `ward_code` string: Town surveys only: the ward, e.g. "001". A town survey number repeats across wards and blocks, so pass the ward and block whenever they are known.
  - `block_code` string: Town surveys only: the block, e.g. "0001".
  - `all_subdivisions` boolean: Return the sub-divisions on the survey with their own owners, patta numbers and extents, instead of naming one owner. Use this when the user asks who owns a whole survey or a whole drawn area ("find all owners here", "list every owner on survey 245"), and when the survey turned out to have many sub-divisions so a single owner cannot be named. Reads the revenue A-register, so it needs NO government fetch and must be preferred over queueing land records for the same survey. Returns the first 200 holdings; the reply says how many remain. PRICE: this flag is the one case where the call costs more than the 1 credit named above, because the whole survey is read: 1 credit up to 10 holdings, 2 up to 50, 3 up to 200, 4 beyond that, and 1 credit for each later page. Naming a single owner stays 1 credit. Say the range to the user before setting it.
  - `page` integer: With all_subdivisions, which page of holdings to return. Page 1 (the default) gives the first 200. Each later page gives 50 more and costs 1 credit, so only ask for one when the user has seen the reply and wants more. The previous reply's next_page tells you the number to pass.

## Response `200`

The envelope: ok, status, data, credits_charged, balance_after, request_id

## Other responses

- `401`: No valid credential
- `402`: Not enough credits
- `429`: Rate limit
