# Which survey number is this pin?

`POST /api/v1/tools/ownership_lookup`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://verified.realestate`
- URL: `https://verified.realestate/api/v1/tools/ownership_lookup`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Locate the land parcel at a latitude/longitude and return its identity and revenue codes (district/taluk/village) plus whether it is rural or urban. This is the FIRST step of a "who owns this" question when you only have a coordinate: it locates the land, it does NOT name the owner. The actual recorded owner then comes from the land record fetch, using the returned revenue codes, from the correct register (patta/chitta if rural, TSLR if urban). Costs 1 credit per call, waived when nothing is found.

## Request body

- object
  - `lat` number, required: Latitude in decimal degrees
  - `lng` number, required: Longitude in decimal degrees

## Response `200`

The envelope: ok, status, data, credits_charged, balance_after, request_id

## Other responses

- `401`: No valid credential
- `402`: Not enough credits
- `429`: Rate limit
