Search land judgments of the Supreme Court of India and the Madras High Court (full text). Supreme Court rulings here are limited to those that apply in Tamil Nadu: central Acts, general principles of property law, and Tamil Nadu statutes; rulings that turn only on another state's law are excluded. Madras High Court judgments cover both benches, 2001-2026. Use for "has the court decided", "what did the High Court hold", "is there a judgment on", and for how a rule has actually been applied in practice: patta and mutation refusals, land acquisition compensation, encroachment and eviction, poramboke and natham classification, temple and waqf land, CMDA and DTCP planning permission refusals, partition, easement and possession. Returns the passage, the case title, the court, the decision date and a link to the judgment PDF. A Supreme Court ruling binds every court in India, including the Madras High Court: where one speaks to the point, lead with it. This is CASE LAW, not legislation: what a rule says is the separate search over the text of rules and acts, and this is for how a court has applied it. Cite the case title and date. Never state a single judgment as if it were the rule, and say plainly that the corpus does not record whether a judgment was later overruled or affirmed on appeal. Free.

  - `bench` 'Chennai' | 'Madurai': Optional Madras High Court bench filter. Only use when the user names a bench or a southern district. Setting it searches the High Court alone.
  - `court` 'Supreme Court' | 'Madras High Court': Optional. Only when the user asks for one court specifically; by default both are searched.
