# Start Voice Agent

`POST /events/{event_id}/voice-agent-call`

## Request

Start the AI voice announcement on this event's camera, now.

The review panel's voice modes are this and Live Talk (owner decision
2026-10-03). Same permission and tenant scoping as the hang-up below and
the manual Talk Down. Runs the agent's own call machinery under an
operator-authored reservation that never auto-dismisses the event - see
`VoiceAgentService.start_for_operator`.

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- VoiceAgentStartResponse: An operator started the AI voice announcement on this event's camera. 200 MEANS PLACED, NOT ANNOUNCED. The speaker has been told to dial the voice platform; whether the AI is actually speaking out of the horn is the two-signal `announced_at` on the event's `voice_agent_call`, exactly as for the agent's own call. 409 SPEAKER_NOT_MAPPED when no SIP-enabled speaker is mapped to the camera; 409 when an AI announcement is already on the speaker for this incident; 502 when the speaker or the platform refused.
  - `success` boolean, required: True when a call was placed.
  - `speaker_id` string, uuid, nullable: The speaker the AI is dialling through.
  - `speaker_label` string, nullable: That speaker's label.
  - `agent_action_id` string, uuid, nullable: The operator-authored voice_down reservation (actor=operator) the call belongs to.
  - `voice_agent_call` object, nullable: The placed call's current public status, including its local id and created_at. Lets the console show status and Hang up without another successful request; contains no provider identifiers or transcript.
