# The public ArcGIS maps key

`GET /v1/maps/key`

The key browsers use to load Esri's basemaps directly, with its expiry read from Esri, or null when Esri does not say. Never cached.

## Other responses

- `503`: No key is set, Esri refuses it, or it has expired
